Sunny mood for the last summer days – Debbie Bliss and Bonnie & Buttermilk

This summer is nearing its end and I am presenting the last summer style for this season. It is a combination of a handknitted designer top developed by Debbie Bliss – one of my favourite knitting designers – and a beautiful skirt inspired by the Indian theme and developed and fairly produced in Berlin by Bonnie & Buttermilk – a young designer duo.

Actually I have started knitting the Debbie Bliss cable detail cutaway top (using Debbie Bliss Cotton DK yarn, 100% cotton) last summer AND finished it, but as I did not check my gauge beforehand, it turned out to be too big. So I had to undo everything and start from the beginning this season using smaller needles 3 and 3.5 mm instead of 3.5 an 4 mm. This time it worked great and the sizing is perfect! You can download this free and easy-to-knit pattern (with simple cables) for example at Deramores.

I have already introduced the Berlin brand Bonnie & Buttermilk in one of my previous posts, but here are some of their other creations I find lovely and original.  You can find more of their unique styles in their DaWanda online shop.
